Black hole size and phase space volumes

چکیده

For extremal black holes the fuzzball conjecture says that the throat of the geometry ends in a quantum ‘fuzz’, instead of being infinite in length with a horizon at the end. For the D1-D5 system we consider a family of sub-ensembles of states, and find that in each case the boundary area of the fuzzball satisfies a Bekenstein type relation with the entropy enclosed. We suggest a relation between the ‘capped throat’ structure of microstate geometries and the fact that the extremal hole was found to have zero entropy in some gravity computations. We examine quantum corrections including string 1-loop effects and check that they do not affect our leading order computations. [email protected]

The phase transition of corrected black hole with f(R) gravity

In this letter, we consider static black hole in f(R) gravity. We take advantage from corrected entropy and temperature and investigate such black hole. Finally, we study the $ P - V $ critically and phase transition of corrected black hole with respect to entropy and temperature. Here also, we obtain the heat capacity for the static black hole in $ f(R) $ gravity. This calculation help us...

Apparent horizons, black hole entropy and loop quantum gravity

In recent work on black hole entropy in non-perturbative quantum gravity, an action for the black hole sector of the phase space is introduced and (partially) quantized. We give a number of observations on this and related works. In particular we show that (i) the entropy calculation applies without change to generally covariant theories having no black hole solutions, (ii) the phase space cons...

On the Entropy of Deformed Phase Space Black Hole and the Cosmological Constant

In this paper we study the effects of noncommutative phase space deformations on the Schwarzschild black hole. This idea has been previously studied in Friedmann–Robertson–Walker (FRW) cosmology, where this “noncommutativity” provides a simple mechanism that can explain the origin of the cosmological constant. In this paper, we obtain the same relationship between the cosmological constant and ...

Phase Transitions and Critical Behavior for Charged Black Holes

We investigate the thermodynamics of a four-dimensional charged black hole in a finite cavity in asymptotically flat and asymptotically de Sitter space. In each case, we find a Hawking-Page-like phase transition between a black hole and a thermal gas very much like the known transition in asymptotically anti-de Sitter space. For a " supercooled " black hole—a thermodynamically unstable black ho...

Emergence of the Fuzzy Horizon through Gravitational Collapse

For a large enough Schwarzschild black hole, the horizon is a region of space where gravitational forces are weak; yet it is also a region leading to numerous puzzles connected to stringy physics. In this work, we analyze the process of gravitational collapse and black hole formation in the context of light-cone M theory. We find that, as a shell of matter contracts and is about to reveal a bla...
